Abbey Bike Tools Crank Preload Tool
The Abbey Bike Tools Crank Preload Tool lets you easily preload your Shimano crank, either by hand or with a hex key. Made of aluminium and anodised a gorgeous green, this compact tool is machined to precisely fit the preload adjuster cap on all modern 24mm spindle Shimano cranks. Simply place it in the slot of the cap, then use the handy finger splines to fasten or loosen cap, or else take out play from the bearing.
Should you find you need more leverage, there's a ready-made slot for a 5mm hex key to help you achieve the degree of preload that you're looking for. As a bonus, the Crank Preload Tool will integrate perfectly with Abbey Bike Tools' Fit Kit, designed to help cyclists replicate their preferred saddle height, angle and setback on every bike they own.
The 8mm or 10mm Saddle Height Bullet, available to purchase separately, will hold the tape measure and fit inside the Crank Preload Tool, right in the centre of the bottom bracket, to facilitate trustworthy measurements.
