Wolf Tooth BSA Bottom Bracket

Wolf Tooth's BSA bottom bracket, machined at its Minnesota HQ, isn't just another component, it follows the company's philosophy of producing precision engineered, lightweight products. Made from aerospace grade aluminium, it has carefully positioned seals, O-rings and end caps to shield the bearings from the harshest conditions, making it as tough as it is smooth.

With an adjustable shell width that allows it to fit 68 and 73mm shells, it features durable, low friction and corrosion-resistant, custom chrome bearings, which are harder than stainless steel. Wolf Tooth goes one step further with races treated with an ACOSUR ZNA coating, which gives a corrosion resistance that proved greater than that of stainless steel in a 500-hour saltwater test. In other words, these bearings are designed to last. The ball diameter, width and counts have all been selected by Wolf Tooth for top quality and optimal longevity.

Designed to withstand the toughest elements that can be thrown at it, the BB has O-rings on the spindle and inner shell, plus a polymer end cap with labyrinth seal, all controlled in-house for the tightest tolerances, to prevent debris from getting through. The bearings have a gutter seal on the outer seal that wipes against the polymer end cap, to trap anything that may get through the labyrinth seal, forming a second layer of defence. Finally, Wolf Tooth uses a light contact seal on the back of the bearing, for smooth and fast running. All this protection meticulously locks out dirt, so that your ride stays smooth and silent.

Metal-on-metal or spindle on bearing races are common causes of creaking. An engineered polymer bushing isolates metal-on-metal contact on the bearing inner races and crank spindle, putting an end to unwanted noise and wear.

Available in a range of anodised colours, to match the rest of the brand's products, the bottom bracket is easily serviceable and repairable, with spare parts available through Wolf Tooth's ‘Right to Repair’ scheme. You can also feel confident with a Lifetime Warranty on the bearings, because Wolf Tooth believes in what it builds.
