Wolf Tooth CAMO Elliptical Chainring for 12 Speed Shimano Hyperglide
The Wolf Tooth CAMO Elliptical Chainring for 12 Speed Shimano Hyperglide is designed to work in tandem with a CAMO spider and a Shimano HG+ 12 speed cassette. It's therefore compatible only with the matching 12 speed Shimano Hyperglide+ chain.
This chainring's use of PowerTrac EllipticalTM technology ensures the larger diameter section engages the chain at the most powerful point of your downstroke, while the smaller diameter section does the same at the weakest point of the pedal stoke, maximising its efficiency. For that reason, a PowerTrac EllipticalTM ring matches the power of the next biggest circular ring in both parts of the stroke.
Even better, thanks to the fact that Wolf Tooth's PTE rings are 10% less ovalised than equivalent chainrings from other brands, with less aggressive timing, your pedal stroke will feel as smooth as with a round chain ring. This ensures even power transfer, leading to improved traction on technical climbs.
Using a CAMO chainring also has its advantages. They're known for creating a perfect chainline that reduces wear and optimises shifting precision, as well as for being versatile, light, cheap and easy to mount.
Available in 30t and 32t sizes only, this chainring uses the Drop-Stop ST tooth profile, which has narrower teeth than the Drop-Stop A wide-narrow profile. Although the narrow teeth work similarly with the chain to those of other Drop-Stop chainrings, the wide teeth use the Symmetric Trapezoidal profile that gives this ring its name. The outside faces of these teeth don't touch the outer plate of the chain, while the extended inner edge of the chainring matches that of its partner chain.
